Personal SWOB Assessment

60-120mins
2-40 people

This workshop offers a flexible approach to self-evaluation and planning, utilizing the SWOB model (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Barriers). Participants will assess themselves, reflect on areas for growth, and create a focused action plan. The workshop also includes an interactive element, with small group coaching to ensure clear and attainable goals.

Workshop steps

1

Begin by conducting a "SWOB" analysis on yourself, pinpointing your primary Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Barriers that could hinder you from improving weaknesses or capitalizing on opportunities. Allocate 20 minutes for this initial step and complete it individually. Aim to write down as much information as possible.

2

Using the SWOB analysis, consider the following question: Which development areas do I want to concentrate on? If participating in a program or course, also ponder: Why did I join this course? What do I expect to gain from this experience? Identify 3-5 development areas for yourself. Individually, take notes while addressing these questions: 1. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would I rate my current level in this area? 2. On a scale of 1 to 10, where do I want to be in 1 month / 3 months / 6 months? 3. What steps can I take to utilize opportunities and boost my development? 4. What steps can I take to overcome obstacles and speed up my development? 5. What are my primary actions for the short term (next two weeks)? 6. What are my primary actions for the medium term (next two months)? 7. How will I measure my development progress? What indicators will demonstrate my growth? Spend about 45 minutes completing this task individually.

3

Form groups of three and discuss your development reflections with one another. Support each other by asking open-ended questions to ensure each development wheel is clear, valuable, and achievable, with appropriate challenges. As you share and converse, the group may identify an additional development area for each participant, based on what they perceive as valuable for that person. Allocate around 40 minutes per person for discussion, questions, and feedback.

4

End the session by conducting a check-out, where participants can express their impressions, thoughts, and emotions as they depart.
