Collaboration
Human Machine
This dynamic and active team exercise encourages participants to collaborate and generate energy by moving together. Each member of the group takes turns becoming a component of the "machine", contributing a unique physical action and sound until the entire group is synchronized as a single human machine.
Workshop steps
Form a big circle with everyone. Tell the group that their goal is to create a human machine. Each person will be a moving part of this machine.
First, have someone step into the circle and start performing a repetitive sound and physical action (e.g., saying "whoop whoop whoop" while flapping one arm). After 5 seconds, let another person join the circle, connecting with the first person and also creating a sound and movement. Keep adding participants to the machine until everyone is connected and actively making their sounds and movements. If there are fewer than 20 people in the group, consider dismantling the machine one person at a time.
