Innovation
Gut Check
During the Ideation Phase, the focus is on generating a multitude of inventive ideas, with less concern for feasibility or execution. While this approach fosters creativity, it's important to recognize that some ideas may not be practical. To determine which ideas are worth pursuing, the Gut Check exercise provides a critical evaluation of each idea.
Workshop steps
Examine your top ideas and simplify them to their core elements. For instance, if your concept involves improving patient experience in a health clinic, focus on enhancing patient privacy.
Begin by listing all the obstacles and challenges you face. Write them on sticky notes and showcase them for everyone's view. Don't be discouraged by a lengthy list. Constraints lead to excellent design!
Now could be the perfect moment for a brief brainstorming session on adapting your idea to fit the limitations you've identified. How can you maintain the essence of your concept while ensuring it stays within your abilities?
Don't hesitate to release an idea. The Gut Check aims to assist you in bringing the most promising ideas to life.
